PhD Position (m/f/d) Magnesium/Zinc System for Large Bore Percutaneous Access Closure

Project Description

The objectives of this PhD-project are:

1. Establish Design I/O matrix to drive design process.

2. Development of device for the removal of long-term indwelling intravascular devices from the patient by reducing or avoiding tissue ingrowth while respecting the natural and biological response to foreign material, building a sleeve formation.

3. Production of early design prototypes for preliminary testing.

4. Design optimisation and verification of late-stage prototype devices from either preferred Mg or Zn alloy to be elected for preclinical (animal testing) testing.
